TikTok creator earnings: Creator Rewards Program, LIVE and Shop
How qualified views, rewards RPM, LIVE gifts and Shop commission stack — and why screenshot RPMs often overstate what you keep.
Rewards are not “all views × RPM”
TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program (formerly Creativity Program) typically pays on a subset of views that meet programme rules (qualified views), not on every video view shown in the app. Using total views × a viral screenshot RPM will overstate income.
In our calculator, monthly views × qualified-view share × (RPM / 1,000) is the Creator Rewards line. Leave the share at 100% only if your Analytics already reports qualified views.
LIVE, brand deals and Shop sit on top
LIVE gifts, brand deals and TikTok Shop affiliate commission are separate stacks. Shop income is usually GMV × your commission rate — not the full order value.
Costs (editing, ads, samples, equipment) and a tax reserve should come off the total, or the “monthly net” screenshot is fiction.
Model it with the free calculator
Use the TikTok Profit Calculator with your own qualified-view share, RPM, LIVE, brand and Shop fields. Defaults are planning assumptions — confirm current programme terms in TikTok Analytics.
Qualified views in practice
Creator Rewards (formerly Creativity Program) typically pays only on views that meet current programme rules — often a For You distribution and a minimum length, plus region eligibility. The 60% default in our calculator is a planning assumption, not a TikTok-published constant. Replace it with qualified ÷ all views from your Rewards dashboard.
Example: 500,000 app views, 60% qualified, $0.80 RPM → (300,000 / 1,000) × 0.80 = $240 from Rewards. LIVE gifts $150, brand $400, Shop GMV $2,000 at 15% example commission = $300. Gross $1,090 before costs. Subtract editing, boosts and a tax reserve and the net is much closer to what you can spend.
Shop commission is your deal with the seller, often roughly 5–30%+, not a fixed TikTok platform fee. Enter GMV and your rate separately so you do not treat order value as income.
